Kristin Burgham

We were approached to create a visual identity and overarching visual language for Kristin Burgham, a Melbourne based ceramicist working with industrial ceramic production processes and found objects. Kristin sought to provide structure and clarity within the way in which her works were presented, which ultimately led to the introduction of a utilitarian brand language softened by playful elements and the dynamic interplay of two contrasting typefaces.
As a part of the new brand language, we identified an opportunity to celebrate the physical process behind the making of each Kristin Burgham piece, which led to the commission of a series of images highlighting aspects of her multi-staged, tactile production process. The resulting imagery was then paired with straightforward product shots featuring a plain background to showcase the unique edges of each piece; a contemporary take on a museum display or product catalogue.
